While waiting for this market to close today and to close at least 1 of my open positions, I am thinking about my long term portfolio.
These are the key points.
1: When the big correction will come I will try to EXIT the market and just wait for better prices and then buy again.
2: I have some good positions open but I opened that many years back without taking care of dividend yelds and so on. I have stocks with a +120%, +100% and so on, but some of them are not releasing any dividend yeld. So I just care the price. Is ok, they did a good performance, but I could easily get the same result investing in stocks with a dividend yeld. And maybe now I would have some more cash in my account.
3: I have some bad positions open and I opened that many years back without taking care of dividend yelds and so on. I have stocks with a -50%, -20% and so on, and some of them are not releasing any dividend yeld. So I just care the price. Ok the price dropped but balance sheet is still good. MEANTIME I could have the same loss, with same kind of good balance sheet but I also could have collected a dividend yeld. And maybe now I would have some more cash in my account.
Given the 3 key points, I decided on the next days to close all that positions (gains or losses) without any Dividend and move all that money to a dividend-releasing companies.
